Around the World with a City Planner – Leslie Pollock
Editor’s Note: In May 2024, distinguished city planner Leslie Pollock (CD ’91) spoke at The Cliff Dwellers about his recent world travels. His mission over the course of four months was to observe cities and towns within Southeast Asia, China, Russia, the Balkans, Israel and Morocco and assess the current development of their metropolitan areas from a city planner’s viewpoint. The cities he visited include Singapore, Kuala Lampur, Luang Prabang, Hanoi, Shanghai, Ulan Bator, Irkutsk, Moscow, Thessaloniki, and Fez. Les’s program is based on his recent book, “Follow the Sun: A City Planner’s Journey Around the World.” The book is now available on Amazon.
