Editor’s Note: The television commentators had their work cut out for them both on Saturday and Sunday.  The torrential rain over the weekend had cut the Saturday race short and then cancelled its carryover finish Sunday morning.  For a time on Sunday, it even looked like the rain was going to kill off the main event that afternoon.  The rain finally stopped and the race got off to a late start.  The late start caused the race to be shorter than scheduled to make sure it ended before dark.  All of this left the broadcasters with lots of dead air to fill.  They did a great job, and captured in their recaps several of the race’s notable spinouts and pileups.
