Editor's Note: As with most of the other families, a Canavan ancestor looms large for the Lynch Families and their offshoots. To begin at the beginning, in the tree above, we see our progenitor Anthony Canavan, Sr. He was one of the nine children of Anthony Canavan and Catherine Kirby. In that tree we also see Anthony Canavan, Sr. and his wife Ann Hughes had 13 children, one of whom was Margaret Elizabeth Canavan (the lady in blue, as it were).
Margaret Elizabeth Canavan was born December 18, 1862, in Sumner Township, Illinois. She died in March 1938 at the age of 75 and is buried in nearby Manteno. At the age of 36, Margaret married John Dominic Casey on Wednesday, January 11, 1899, in Holy Name Cathedral Catholic Church in Chicago. He was 34 at the time and the son of Thomas Patrick Casey and Catherine Bern. This John Dominic Casey was born August 4, 1864 and reached 50 years of age when he died in 1915.
John and Margaret Canavan Casey had two children. Mary Catherine Casey, known as Catherine, was born May 22, 1900, in Chicago. Mary Catherine died on August 9, 1982, at the age of 82. Her namesake brother John Dominic Casey was born in Chicago on February 15, 1907. He later married Martha Gwinn and died on April 16, 1989, at the age of 82.
Mary Catherine Casey and Patrick Columbus Lynch had three children: Francis Lynch, known as Frank, John Gibbons Lynch, known as Jack, and Patricia Lynch, known as Patsy.

John Gibbons Lynch was born on Saturday, August 12, 1922. At the age of 28, John married Roberta Wyman, known as Bobby Gay, June 23, 1951, when she was 24 years old. Roberta Wyman was born July 1, 1926. She was the daughter of Austin Lowell Wyman Sr and Helen Dorothy Smock. Roberta reached 78 years of age and died on May 11, 2005.
After her death, John Lynch was married to Lorraine McSherry in 2006. John died in Cary, Illinois November 10, 2009, at the age of 87. He was buried in Windridge Cemetery in Cary, beside his first wife, Roberta.

Roberta (Robbie) Lynch was born March 10, 1952. At the age of 25, Roberta married Gary Terpstra July 9, 1977, when he was 24 years old. Gary Terpstra was born April 14, 1953. Roberta and Gary Terpstra have three children: Brian, Mark and Amy.
Brian Terpstra was born on December 28,1981. Brian is married to Ashley Schumann.
Mark Terpstra was born on April 27, 1984. Mark has a daughter with April Dean named Katelyn Maylie Terpstra, born on December 28, 2008 and a stepson, Ethan Lee Dean, orn October 29, 2002.
Amy Terpstra was born on June 22, 1987.
John Lynch was born on Wednesday, July 15, 1953. At the age of 21, John married Patrice Brunory on Saturday, August 10, 1974, when she was also 21. Patrice Brunory was born on Thursday, January 15, 1953.
John and Patrice Lynch have three children: Michael, Kevin and Emily Lynch.
Michael Lynch was born on June 5, 1982 and is married to Lindsey Cragg. Michael and Lindsey have a daughter and a son.
Stella Lynch was born in 2012.
Liam Lynch, their son, was born in 2016.
Kevin Lynch was born on March 5, 1984.
Emily Lynch was born on February 7, 1988 and is married to Peter Truskey. Emily and Peter Truskey have a son and a daughter:

Mary (Cathy) Catherine Lynch Pleil was born on December 29, 1954. At the age of 22, Mary Catherine married Joachim Pleil on Saturday, June 4, 1977, when he was 22 years old. Joachim Pleil was born on Wednesday, August 11, 1954. Mary Catherine Lynch and Joachim Pleil have two daughters:
Maureen Pleil was born on September 3, 1983. On August 4, 2007, she married Ryan Williams. Ryan was born October 21, 1881. They have three children:

Maya Ruth Williams, born October 21, 2011, and
Kaylie Emma Williams, born January 13, 2014.
Kristen Pleil was born on April 1, 1983. She married Carl Sundstrom who was borrn October 27, 1980. They have two sons:
Soren Sundstrom was born February 16, 2016.
Leif Sundstrom was born January 18, 2019.
Elizabeth (Beth) Wyman Lynch was born July 14, 1957. At the age of 31, Beth Lynch married Timothy Martin Dwyer December 30, 1988, when he was 27 years old. Timothy Dwyer was born October 16, 1961.They have four children: Allison, Connor, Kevin and Caitlin.
Allison Mary Dwyer was born January 23, 1990.
Connor Lynch Dwyer was born December 2, 1991.
Kevin Canavan Dwyer was born in New Jersey on August 12, 1994.
Caitlin Casey Dwyer was born in New Jersey on August 12, 1994.
Patrick Casey Lynch, known as Casey, was born October 26, 1958. At the age of 29, Casey Lynch married Kristine Van Every October 15, 1988, when she was 27 years old. Kristine Van Every was born on Monday, February 13, 1961.
Margaret (Meg) Jane Lynch Meyer was born April 11, 1960. She married Patrick G. Heck on June 27, 1981, when she was 21 and he was 24 years old. They were divorced on October 21, 1988.
They had one son: Patrick Thaman Heck, born on March 17, 1983. He is married to Allison Jane Abbott, who was born on August 17, 1983.
Patrick and Allison have two daughters:
Ada Lillian Heck, born October 9, 2012, and
Maren Clare Heck, born Jully 1, 2016.
Meg Lynch married Richard Meyer on October 27, 1990. At the time, Richard had a daughter Shannon Gayle Meyer, born February 19, 1971, and two sons, Brady Pates Meyer, born July 12, 1979 and Zachary Meyer, born July 5, 1982.
Shannon Meyer, born in 1971, is married to Griswold Simpson. Shannon Gayle Meyer and Griswold Simpson have two sons, Andrew Simpson and Ryan Simpson.
Brady Meyer married and was later divorced from Julia Carrasco Fernandez. Brady Meyer subsequently married Ilene Shevrin. They have a daughter, Elana Natalie Meyer.
Emily Smock Lynch, the youngest child of John Gibbons and Roberta Lynch was born on Friday, April 21, 1961, in Chicago, Illinois. At the age of 27, Emily Smock married Joel Gomez on Saturday, August 20, 1988, in Cary, IL, when he was 43 years old. Joel was born on February 24, 1945 and has one daughter, Ivon Gomez, from a prior relationship. Emily Lynch died in Arlington, Virginia, on July 29, 2002, at the age of 41.
Joel and Emily Lynch Gomez had two children:
Rebecca Gomez was born on January 21, 1992.
Benjamin Gomez was born on May 27, 1993.
Joel Gomez later remarried Kristin Snyder.
She has two daughters from a prior marriage:
Katrina Snyder and
