Editor’s Note: On a mild day in early December, 1998, June and Charley Bowe visited us in Northbrook. They brought their new puppy Rex the Wonder Dog. Rex immediately was smelled in all the wrong places by our Airedale Sophie Mae. Having passed the smell test so to speak, she was found fit to play with not only with Sophie, but with our son Pat Bowe and our neighbors, Laurel Dusek and Phoebe Amberg as well.
