Editor’s Note: These Bowe Family Trees are drawn from my mother Mary Gwinn Bowe‘s book, The Families, and the genealogy volumes Descendants of Anthony Canavan. These latter works were compiled over many years by my mother, Canavan descendant Joseph Christopher Hart, and myself.
Patrick Canavan was born in 1856 in County Mayo, He was the son of Anthony Canavan Sr. and Ann Hughes. Patrick died in St Joseph, Michigan, on April 15, 1915 and was buried in Resurrection Cemetery there. Patrick married Elizabeth Larkin August 10, 1891, in St Joseph when she was 22 years of age. Her mother was Mary Larkins, who was born in 1869 in Niles, Michigan. Her father was Lawrence Larkins. Elizabeth Larkin was born in Berrien County, Michigan April 19, 1869 and was 90 years of age when she died May 20, 1959. She was buried in Resurrection Cemetery in Saint Joseph. Patrick Canavan and Elizabeth Larkin had one daughter: Elizabeth Canavan. Elizabeth Canavan was born in St Joseph, Michigan November 6, 1895 and died December 8, 1966 at the age of 71.
Elizabeth Canavan married John Hanley. John Hanley was born in St Joseph, Michigan in 1892. John reached 64 years of age and died in Sinking Creek, Greenback County, Tennessee, August 28, 1956. They had five children: Mary, Thomas Hanley, John Patrick Hanley, William Beresford Hanley and David Anthony Hanley.

John Patrick Hanley, known as Pat, was born February 23, 1925, in St Joseph, Michigan. Pat, married Catherine (Kay) Mary Bartsch about 1963. Pat Hanley died in Skokie, Illinois, on August 11, 2012, at the age of 87. Kay Hanley died in 2017.
Pat and Kay Hanley had two children: Elizabeth and John.
Elizabeth C. Hanley (Dunn), known as Beth, was born in 1965.
Her younger brother is John Francis Hanley.
Beth Hanley, married Christopher Joseph Dunn December 20, 1995. Christopher Dunn was born in 1953.
Beth and Christopher Dunn have three children.
Their first born was John Dunn, known as Jack.
Patrick Dunn was born March 23, 2000.
Catherine (Catie) Dunn was born April 12, 2006.
John Francis Hanley married Amy Wagner August 5, 2000 in Alexandria, VA.
John and Amy Hanley have three children.
Elizabeth Campbell Hanley was born on January 21, 2004. Her younger sisters are Bridget Hanley and Claire Hanley.
