Editor’s Note: In June, 1990, when my wife Cathy’s brother Harold Vanselow and his family were visiting us. Sophia Lacombe and Joe Vanselow, Harold’s son, couldn’t resist playing the pinball machine in our den. Andy Bowe had won it as a prize in a charity lottery, but winning the machine was the end of the good news. The bad news was that it was second hand and I had to learn how to fix its innards which were constantly breaking.
