Editor’s Note: In July, 1990, with Sophia Lacombe in Chicago, it was time for an outing with Emily and Kevin Casey and Pat and Andy Bowe. And what could be a better daytrip than to take the Amtrak train from our nearby Glenview, Illinois Metra station to Milwaukee and see its famous zoo. There was plenty to look at on the train ride up and back, but the hit of the day was when Emily, Andy and Kevin all mounted a single camel for a truly bumpy ride. And it wasn’t even hump day. By the time everyone disembarked from our return Amtrak train at Glenview at the end of the day, we were tuckered out as I remember.
