Editor’s Note:  In July, 1999, Livie, Myriam and Josephine Riboud drove Cathy, Andy, Pat and me to the 1393 Pierrefonds Chateau, not far from Vieux in the Forest at Compiegne north of Paris.  The grand scale of the chateau, its interior spaces and its large courtyard amounted to a grand spectacle.
