Editor’s Note: In a March 14, 2022 interview Tony and I discussed what kind of content might later be added to the www.wbowe.com website. In this clip, Tony asks Bill about his brother Dick’s career working for the City of Chicago. In answering, Bill discusses the report his brother made while observing the violence associated with the Days of Rage protest staged in Chicago in August 1968 by the Students for a Democratic Society. This SDS violence preceded the broader anti-war demonstrations that occurred shortly thereafter as the Democratic National Convention went forward. The earlier SDS rioting did its work in setting the stage for the violence and attendant global media attention that shortly followed in Chicago with the Convention.
