Editor’s Note: My wife, Catherine Vanselow Bowe’s father was Harold Vanselow, Sr. His sister, Eileen Vanselow, married Frederick Ostermeier, Sr. Their son and daughter, Fred, Jr. and Judy Ostermeier, both raised families in the Springfield, Illinois area. And, with Judy marrying a Walsh, Fred and Judy today have a host of Walsh and Ostermeier grandchildren out and about.
