Pat Bowe
was a key member of the secret cabal that tried and failed to throw a surprise party for my 80th birthday. Leaders Tony and Cathy Bowe tasked Charley Bowe with organizing the party venue, and my son Pat was asked to manage the guest list and be the party’s master of ceremonies. All four bear responsibility for the botched element of surprise. I hope this microaggression will allow me to be a victim, if not a saint. Pat successfully introduced his brother Andy’s remarks at the beginning of the after-dinner program, and my own remarks at the end of the evening.
