Editor’s Note: Two years ahead of me in high school were Jay Edelston and his classmates Steve Heineman and John Eshoo. Although my family never owned an automobile, these three did grow up with them. Jay and Steve were particularly enamored of them. I recall in later years watching Jay race one of his own cars at the Road America racetrack in Wisconsin. While he didn’t come in first that day, he’s always ranked high on my list of friends.
