Editor’s Note: As luck would have it, on the fateful day of September 17, 1993, I happened to be able to drive from Paris with Jean Gwinn and Myriam Riboud to France’s Brittany coast. They were closing their purchase of a summer home for their growing family. After visiting the Nortary Public, we stopped by their purchase. There Jean Gwinn and Myriam finished discussing details with the seller and her daughter and Jean Gwinn immediately took symbolic ownership by fixing a broken light fixture.
