Slideshow for the 2024 Cliff Dwellers Annual Members’ Meeting
Editor’s Note: On October 14, 2024, The Cliff Dwellers arts club celebrated the 118th Annual Meeting of its Members. Having myself retired from serving as emcee of the gathering for many years, this year’s master of ceremonies asked me to select from my photo archive pictures of some of the events and scenes enjoyed by its members since 1996. That was the year when the club moved from its old home atop Orchestra Hall into its current penthouse home next door at 200 South Michigan Avenue.
Besides showing a variety of events, the slideshow has interior views of the club’s former premises. Important gatherings include the club’s 100th Anniversary Celebration at its new home, and a grand celebration of Roger Ebert, the esteemed movie critic and Cliff Dweller. Loyal staff are seen honored in the retirement gatherings for Manager Don Santelli and Chef Victor Perez.
No record of the club over these years would be complete without a sample of the club’s stunning views of Millennium Park, Buckingham Fountain, the Museum Campus, and Lake Michigan. The slideshow offers some unusual takes on many of theses familiar scenes.
